Quality Control Manager
Work Location: Fort McMurray, Alberta.
Job Type: Full Time, permanent

Salary Range: Depending on experience this position pays between $70, 000 – 80, 000 per year based on a 40 hour work week plus an additional 25% Fort McMurray location bump and a $4000 Living Out Allowance.
Flatiron Constructors Canada Limited (www.flatironcorp.com) is seeking a Quality Control Manager to join its project in Fort McMurray, Alberta. The Quality Control Manager will be responsible for the quality of the construction elements of a project and advises regarding the effectiveness of the process quality control performed to ensure design and construction elements are in compliance with contract specifications.
Additional Responsibilities
•Supervise and direct on-site personnel involved in quality assurance work
•Prepare, obtain approval, issue and implement company quality assurance program manual in compliance with owner contract and company requirements
•Provide necessary outgoing correspondence and insure compliance and/or correctness
•Participate in review board meetings to resolve nonconformance areas; follow up to ensure corrections are implemented
•Supervise internal/external audits to insure quality assurance requirements are implemented and/or maintained
•Supervise inspection of work in various disciplines
•Assist in resolution of company non-conformance reports
•Coordinate quality assurance program with job site departments and contractors
•As required by quality assurance program manual, perform activities such as audits, preparation of company standards, notification to management of quality problems, etc
•Act as liaison with owner, regulatory agencies, subcontractors and/or internal departments on quality related matters as required
•Review budget, materials, and time schedules
•Ensure company standards as outlined in quality assurance manual are effectively implemented
•Ensure adequate corrective measures are implemented in cases of noncompliance
•Implement and manage the overall Quality Management Program for the project
•Organize and maintain a document control system for all quality data
•Review and close all Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs)
•Assist in developing a plan for process change to eliminate nonconformance trends
•Review change requests to release packages for conformance with QMP
Requirements
•10+ years quality control related experience, including in heavy civil construction and/or training
•Completion of High school
•Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience
•Excellent leadership and communication skills
•Strong time management and prioritization capabilities
•Ability to work effectively in a team
